On Thursday, I am participating in "Jumpstart's Read for the Record"
http://www1.pearsonfoundation.org/

Basically that just means that I am going to Joe's preschool class to read "The Story of Ferdinand". It is an interesting book about a bull and nonviolent conflict resolution. Some interesting facts: Hitler ordered this book to be burned and Ghandi called it his "favorite book".
As I am also working on improving my video editing skills, I thought it would be fun to turn this into a mini video project as well. The idea was to do one of those "blue/green screen effects" (chroma key) to replace a background. I was also interested in trying to manage multiple video layers at the same time, so I made a little PBS-style book reading. disclaimer: This is not my "best" reading of it and my pronunciation is wrong on the Spanish terms. My reading of this is wildly cheesy as well (i must have been in a weird mood when I captured this video). I made some mistakes with the audio levels on the soundtrack (i meant for the background music that i put together to be much louder and my voice, softer... maybe i'll go back and fix that.) Anywhoo, if you have time (and the patience) I hope you enjoy "The Story of Ferdinand" by Munro Leaf (as read by Steve Polyak).
FWIW, it was mostly done by remixing the content available from:

You can read the book there yourself or with others as well.
