so i got hit. a car did a "failure to yield" left hand turn thru an intersection as I was coming in the opposite direction. i was clearly visible. there was nothing about the intersection that would have prevented a driver from seeing me. i had zero opportunity to react, and wham! i was on my backside in the middle of the street. my steel top tube and down tube buckled up right where they meet the head tube (i.e. we collided with a pretty decent amount of force). i left a nice steve-shaped dent in the car's passenger door panel and knocked the side mirror off. my vintage fixie pinarello is toast. i think i somehow got off with some nasty looking leg injuries and possibly a wrist injury or two. i'd like to think there was something that i could have done differently, e.g. some defensive riding technique but i can't think of anything. just really, really bad timing i guess.
